Etihad is the boutique stablemate of Emirates based in the more conservative Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
Once a trailblazer in luxury travel, Etihad pioneered “The Residence” which was the most decadent flying experience outside of a private jet.
Etihad has shared the impressive growth trajectory of its Dubai based rival but with less success.
Unfortunately ill-fated investment into loss making airlines around the globe resulted in cutbacks at the airline which was forced to shrink in size to return to profitability.
Despite this setback Etihad retains a luxury offering to passengers across its widebody only fleet.
The Residence can still be found on the a380 between London and Abu Dhabi.
