Marriott Bonvoy started life in early 2019 as the combined loyalty program of the newly merged Marriott and Starwood brands.

The Starwood program – Starwood Preferred Guest – was a favourite of UCT and many other frequent luxury travellers for the consistency of the benefits offered.

The Marriott program, Marriott Rewards, was not as well regarded and Starwood loyalists assumed that the combined program would dilute the value SPG members had usually received.

It is hard to beat the sheer scale of the Marriott Bonvoy a the loyalty program offered by the world’s largest hotel company.

Members earn points for every eligible stay, which can be redeemed for free nights, room upgrades, and other perks.

The program also includes elite status levels, which offer additional benefits such as late check-out, room upgrades, and bonus points.

One of the key features of the Marriott Bonvoy program is the ability to earn and redeem points at over 7,000 hotels across 130 countries.

In addition, members can also earn and redeem points for flights, car rentals, and vacation packages.

Another great feature of the program is the ability to transfer points to over 40 different airlines, which can help members save money on flights and earn miles with their favourite airline.

Additionally, the program has a wide range of redemption options, including free nights, room upgrades, and even experiences such as cooking classes and spa treatments.

One of the best things about the Marriott Bonvoy program is the flexibility of its free night awards.

Unlike some other hotel loyalty programs, Marriott Bonvoy allows members to redeem points for any room type, at any hotel, at any time (subject to availability).
