Ground Experience
Check-in at Perth International airport is swift and straightforward.
Qantas has a new lounge for international passengers with a small menu of light meals cooked to order and a small buffet selection.
The lounge focuses on wellness and even has a yoga room to try and beat the jet lag on longer international legs.
Seat
Qantas has done a great job retrofitting their new “Business Suite” on all their widebody aircraft, including the A330s, 787s and A380s.
The seat is very comfortable, has ample storage and is a pleasant place to spend time on trans-continental and medium-haul international routes where Qantas deploys their A330s.
Seats alternate between being closer to the window and then closer to the aisle, and UCT prefers the pews closer to the window for a greater feeling of privacy.
The seat seamlessly folds into a bed for sleeping, and the crew will provide a mattress protector and blankets on international flights as they did on this one to Singapore.
Service
The Qantas service can be hit and miss.
On this flight, it was excellent, with friendly flight attendants who seemed to enjoy their job.
Food & Drink
International food and drink in Qantas Business are usually solid.
Passengers are greeted with a menu that contains an excellent selection of meals.
Champagne and a well-sourced selection of Australian red and white wines are served.
In-Flight Entertainment + Wi-Fi
Qantas has a great IFE selection, including great programs from around the world and showcasing Australian content, which is a nice touch.
I like how Qantas has box sets of hit shows, so you can binge a whole series should the flight time allow.
Sadly Qantas is yet to include Wi-Fi in its international fleet, and in this, it remains off the pace.
Overall – 4-stars
This was a great flight between Perth and the Lion City, and it is good to see that Qantas has returned to daily double flights for this route.
Qantas needs to invest in International Wi-Fi, but this is my only complaint about this pleasant flight experience.
