Saudi Arabia is working to establish itself as a leading global tourist destination and the timeframe and scale at which it wants to achieve this is breathtaking.

The state is investing heavily in the national carrier, Saudia, and has ambitious plans to create two new airlines, Riyadh Air and Neom Air.

International hotel brands are also starting to increase their developments in Saudi Arabia, including Rosewood which has announced the development of a third property.

The hotel will be part of the planned Amaala project on Saudi Arabia’s northwest coast which is aiming to create a world-class wellness hub.

Located on the shores of the Red Sea, guests staying at the property will have direct access to the fourth-largest reef globally, which is an integral part of Rosewood’s “A Sense of Place” philosophy.

The property will feature 110 guest rooms and suites, as well as 25 Rosewood Residences, and will include the Asaya Spa, where guests can indulge in treatments that promote well-being.

There is currently no confirmed opening date for the property, although Rosewood is keen to showcase this property early.

When it welcomes guests, it will join the Rosewood Riyadh (scheduled to open in 2025) and the Rosewood Red Sea (opening date TBD).

Rosewood is the youngest of the boutique luxury brands but the quality of its properties has endeared it to UCT.

Rosewood Amaala is one of several planned openings that will add to the brand’s portfolio of just 30 exclusive properties worldwide.
